Is your salt sugar free or low sodium?

It's sea salt and smoke. We don't add anything else to the salt. The salt and wood never come in direct contact. Sea salt is not considered low sodium. There is no sugar added at any point in the process.

Can I have the recipe and names of your wood and salt suppliers?

Yes, for 2 million dollars. Seriously, if you want to buy the business, I'll sell it all. I'd even go as low as 1.5 million if you throw in the deed to a castle in France.

What about nuts?

We follow best practices in terms of cross contamination, but the facility we smoke in (a home for the time being) is not nut free. Nuts never come in contact with either the smoker, the salt or the wood.

It's wood smoke. There's no fruit in our product. Different hardwoods impart slightly different flavors, but they really don't taste like fruit. This is no different from smoked meats. You might catch a hint of sweetness or a whiff of something fruity, but it's wood smoke. Plain and simple.

OK, how about gluten?

Same as with nuts. There's no gluten containing ingredients used at any time, but the home is not gluten free.

How much do I need to use?

When we cook with it, we use it instead of regular salt. Think more about how salty you want the end result to be Thank how smokey. A little bit goes a long way. The smoke flavors, while never overwhelming do come through nicely on most foods. It works both as an ingredient and a finishing salt.

Is it at least vegan?

It's sea salt and hardwood smoke. Unless you consider one of those things to be an animal, the product is completely vegan. If you do consider either salt or wood to be an animal, I recommend a basic remedial science course.
